Claims involving Trailing Ropes or Cables

Have you or a loved one been injured as a result of tripping over a trailing rope or cable? Find out the best way to win a claim for compensation.

If you or someone that you know has been injured as a result of tripping over a trailing rope or cable, either in a work accident or even outside of work, then The Claims Partnership can help you get compensation for your physical and mental injuries, as well as loss of earnings and any other expenses that you might have paid for.

How we can help

The Claims Partnership are a firm of ‘safe hands’ solicitors who offer a cast-iron No Win/No Fee service and an unbeaten record of success. We are so confident of our abilities to win your slip at work claim, that we promise to pay you £100.00 if we do not win it for you.

We have successfully won dozens of claims for compensation against every kind of employer for people who have tripped over a trailing rope or cable, negotiating compensation awards from as little as £1,500.00 for a very minor injury to damages in the hundreds of thousands of pounds for clients whose lives have been badly affected.

Common accidents that we have dealt with include our clients tripping over electrical and computer wiring that is not safely channelled under the floor or affixed to the wall. Our clients have been injured where maintenance staff or workmen have left ropes, cables or extension leads trailed across the floor. We have successfully represented several clients who have tripped in warehouses where extension bars, tow bars and tow ropes had been left horizontal and in position, or across pedestrian walkways within the factory.

No claim is too big or too small and we make sure that we use our decades of skill and experience to do our best for every one of our client’s. Our solicitors are not just skilled lawyers, but we have also worked in factories, warehouses, supermarkets and in many other jobs where trailing ropes and cables are commonplace.

How do I bring a claim after tripping over a trailing rope or cable?

Tripping over a trailing rope or cable accidents are relatively common work accidents in the United Kingdom.

Our experience at The Claims Partnership is that the vast majority of tripping accidents at work caused by a trip over a trailing rope or cable could have been avoided if your employer or your colleagues had been more careful. Most of the time an employer has not met their legal obligations to make sure you are safe in your job. These obligations include:

– Regularly inspecting, tidying and maintaining the workplace to ensure that cables, wires and ropes are not exposed or a danger to workers walking around the factory, warehouse or office

– Ensuring that staff are trained to be alert to the danger presented by trailing wires and cables and to ensure that they work safely and that the workplace around them is safe.

– Carrying out a proper Risk Assessment to identify what parts of the workplace and what activities might create a danger to pedestrian workers because of an exposed cable, wire, rope or towbar and to take steps to make sure systems are in place that prevents accidents like this happening.

– Making sure that where cables, ropes, wires or toe bars are in a position of danger to staff, that those areas are cordoned off or ramped over and made safe.

Case Study

A Factory Worker Trips Over a Tow Rope on the Shop-Floor

Graeme worked as a Production Operative for a large and well-known manufacturer of construction vehicles and plant. He was employed by them through an agency. His job required him to load small- wheeled containers with pieces of equipment, which would then be towed to other parts of the factory. Whilst doing his job, he needed to walk between the gap between two containers and has he did so, he tripped over a tow cable connecting the two containers.

Without the Claims Partnership I doubt I would have received a compensation from Ryanair, glad I used their services. Thanks to Paul and Kallen.
