Spillages and Puddles Created By Colleagues

Spillages and Puddles Created By Colleagues

Spillages and Puddles Created By Colleagues

Have you or a loved one been injured as a result of slipping on a spillage on the floor caused by one your colleagues, or a co-worker from another employer? Find out the best way to win a claim for compensation.

If you or someone that you know has been injured as a result of slipping on a spillage on the floor caused by a colleague co-worker from another agency or employer, either in a work accident or even outside of work, then The Claims Partnership can help you get compensation for your physical and mental injuries, as well as loss of earnings and any other expenses that you might have paid for.

How We Can Help

The Claims Partnership are a firm of ‘safe hands’ solicitors who offer a cast-iron No Win/No Fee service and an unbeaten record of success. We are so confident of our abilities to win your slip at work claim, that we promise to pay you £100.00 if we do not win it for you.

We have successfully won hundreds of claims for compensation against every kind of employer for people who have slipped on a wet floor, negotiating compensation awards from as little as £1,500.00 for a very minor injury to damages in the hundreds of thousands of pounds for clients whose lives have been badly affected.

Common accidents that we have dealt with include our clients slipping on puddles or wet floors caused by spillage from a bucket or container, water spilled from a trolley carrying a bucket or liquid container, a spillage of oil or mechanical fluid from a piece of machinery in transit or that has recently been worked on and not properly sealed. We have won many claims for spillages as simple as a leak from a water bottle or coffee cup.

No claim is too big or too small and we make sure that we use our decades of skill and experience to do our best for every one of our client’s. Our solicitors are not just skilled lawyers, but we have also worked in factories, warehouses, supermarkets and in many other jobs where wet and dangerous floors are commonplace.

How do I bring a claim after slipping on a wet floor as a result of a spillage created by a colleague?

Slipping accidents on wet floors are the most common type of work accidents in the United Kingdom. The UK Health and Safety Executive report that wet floors cause 90% of workplaces slipping accidents.

Our experience at The Claims Partnership is that the vast majority of slipping accidents at work caused by a spillage on the floor caused by a colleague could have been avoided if your employer or your colleagues had been more careful. At The Claims Partnership, we take the view that even if your employer was not at fault directly, they are still responsible for the carelessness of their employees, especially if it has caused you to be injured. We have successfully argued this and won compensation for our clients on this basis on hundreds of occasions

Most of the time an employer has not met their legal obligations to make sure you are safe in your job. These obligations include:

– Regularly inspecting and cleaning floors and surfaces to check for spillages or anything that might cause you to slip.

– Ensuring that staff have placed a wet floor sign on a floor where they have created a spillage or puddle.

– Carrying out a proper Risk Assessment to identify what activities were vulnerable to spillages, what staff might be involved and to identify processes and equipment that could avoid spillage happening.

– Training staff to carry out their jobs safely so the spillages were avoided, to train then to use equipment that prevented or minimise the risk of a spillage, to clean up spillages properly, to mop properly and to place warning signs in areas that have a spillage, puddle or have been recently mopped.

At The Claims Partnership, we take the view that even if your employer was not at fault directly, they are still responsible for the carelessness of their employees, especially if it has caused you to be injured. We have successfully argued this and won compensation for our clients on this basis on hundreds of occasions.

A Classroom Assistant Breaks Her Elbow After Slipping On a Wet Classroom Floor

Jenny* worked as a Classroom Assistant in a Primary School. Her job involved her in getting to school early each morning to prepare the classroom for the children's lessons that day. The floor of the classroom where she worked was half carpet and half floorboards. Shortly after she had entered the classroom, she stepped off the carpeted area to walk towards the sink. She did not know that the cleaner had been in the classroom and mopped the floorboards approximately 15 minutes before she had entered the classroom. The cleaner had not properly dried the floor after she had mopped it and had not left a Wet Floor sign on the floor, even though she knew that Joyce would be arriving shortly after she finished.

Without the Claims Partnership I doubt I would have received a compensation from Ryanair, glad I used their services. Thanks to Paul and Kallen.
