Personal Injury Compensation Claims
What is personal injury?
A personal injury claim arises when an individual is injured in an accident of any kind that wasn’t their fault. This could be a fall in a supermarket caused by an unmarked wet floor, a car accident or a fall on somebody’s property.
Whatever happened to you, as specialist personal injury solicitors in Preston, The Claims Partnership is here to help you make a claim. Our experts will do everything they can to makes things as easy, quick and straightforward as possible.

Making a personal injury claim is a big step. We understand that winning the claim and maximising the compensation is only one part of the process. How do personal injury claims work?
The first step to take in any personal injury claim is to speak to a professional. The sooner you do this then the sooner we are able to take relevant and active steps on your behalf. There is a time limit; in the UK claims are only allowed to be made within three years of the accident. However, the sooner you start then we can put the best case forward.
There are two types of compensation that can be claimed for in a case: general damages and special damages.
General damages refers to injuries. The evidence for this will usually be based on a medical expert’s report on the physical damage and injuries that you have sustained.
Special damages refers to finances. Claiming for special damages puts you back in the stable financial position that you would have been in had the accident been avoided. If you wish to pursue special damages, you should keep receipts and invoices to prove losses.
How much personal injury compensation could I receive?
The amount of compensation you may receive at the end of your claim ultimately depends on a number of factors, and there is no accurate way to predict it. Here are some of the factors that can influence the end amount:
- The injury itself – Are your symptoms temporary or permanent? Will you be let with a scar or a loss of mobility? Did you experience any emotional distress? Will your life be permanently affected?
- Medical treatment – What happened after the incident? What treatment did you receive? What medication were you prescribed? Did you require rehabilitation or physical therapy?
- Your future – Will you be able to return to work? Will you require further care or medical treatment?
What about costs?
At The Claims Partnership, we have three simple rules which apply to our Personal Injury claims service:
- We never charge our clients anything until the day they receive their compensation payment
- We guarantee that all our clients will receive a minimum percentage of the compensation they are awarded
- We will agree that minimum percentage with our clients before we start work on their claim
For our Personal Injury claims service, we guarantee that all our clients will receive a minimum of 70% of the compensation we negotiate for them.
We can also help you with any medical or rehabilitation needs you may require.
